Professor Lou Falik and Marilynn Falik have visited India, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia in October of 2003. They have presented workshops on the application of mediated learning experiene for parents and childcare providers in Mumbai, Chennai, Colombo, Kuala Lumpur, and Johor Baru. The response has been well received, by over 500 participants in these locations. In several of these places, Lou and Marilynn have seen parents, consulted with them regarding their concerns about their children, and conducted LPAD assessments. Wherever these activities occur, there are requests for more services, and training. In several places, the new programs for younger children, the FIE-Basic and LPAD Basic have been introduced. In addition, in Chennai, India, 22 people participated in a LPAD Level I workshop. Planning is underway for more workshops and activities, as more and more people (teachers, psychologists, parents, and school adminisrators) become familiar with mediated learning and cognitive modifiability possibilities and potentials.
