As from 1988 StiBCO - the foundation for the enhancement of cognitive development - has been working with the ideas of Reuven Feuerstein In the Netherlands StiBCO. Today we combine Feuerstein's theory of the Structural Cognitive Modifiability with the Dutch approach of developmental education (inspired by Vygotsky) and the self-regulated learning- theory of M. Boeckaerts. Feuerstein defines intelligence as adaptability. This is a dynamic concept. The development or cognitive modifiability of the cognitive functions is stimulated by the inter-action with a mediator (mediated learning experience / MLE). The quality of the mediated interaction depends on the presence and the frequency of (a dozen) parameters. StiBCO's first task is the training of the Feuerstein theory and practice, especially the Instrumental Enrichment Program (I.E.). These courses are intended for: · parents of disabled children. · teachers and remedial teachers in primary, secondary and special schools. Nowadays we also provide training regarding the mediation interaction style and involvement in school projects: primary schools: training the teachers - by optimizing their mediated learning qualities - to enhance the learning dispositions and self-regulated learning of the children. The teachers are also introduced to programs such as I.E., Bright Start and Cognet. pre- vocational schools: KAG-AL (knowledge as tool - active learning); a project for stimulating self-regulated learning and the introduction of Instrumental Enrichment as part of the school curriculum. The introduction of the possibilities of the Learning Propensity Assessment Device and Dynamic Assessment for diagnosing children with special needs is the next topic in the development of our activities.

The center works primarily with visually-handicapped people, both normal, gifted and multi-handicapped. Mission:  The primary mission of IC&TA is the training and implementation of
Instrumental Enrichment to professionals in a variety of educational, human
service, and corporate settings.  Our aim is to prepare individuals to be fully
conversant with the theory, application, relevant research and appropriate
assessment techniques for full implementation with a variety of student
populations of a wide age range.  Although we are involved in the training of
professionals in regular-education settings, we also specialize in preparing
professionals and parents who are working with students who have special needs of
various kinds.  The Director of Training has more than 20 years of experience in
working with special populations, and a similar period of experience working with
regular populations, and has conducted numerous research studies on the
effects of Instrumental Enrichment with special populations; he has been a
certified FIE trainer since 1978.  

Two additional services are provided by IC&TA:
1. An additional service that IC&TA provides to everyone who is trained by us
is regular follow-up.  Follow-up may take the form of no-cost consultation
with those implementing the program through remote connections such as
electronic mail or telephone; more often, however, it takes the form of no-cost on-site
visitations to the trainee's educational setting where he/she is implementing
the program.  In this context, the trainer may team teach an FIE lesson with
the trainee and provide feedback, or may carry out a demonstration lesson with
the trainee's group of students.  Follow-up sessions are scheduled several
times per year to occur in between the various training sessions at each level of
FIE, e.g. after two days of training, after another two days of training,
etc.
2. Another service provided by IC&TA is guidance and assistance with
conducting assessment to determine the effects of FIE on trainees' particular
populations.  The trainer helps the trainees design assessments that fit the local
context, advises about  data collection, assists in analyzing  the data collected
 and works with the trainee to interpret the results of the assessments.  The
 emphasis is on a multi-modal approach to assessment, using a variety of
credible assessment instruments to fit the particular type of population with
which FIE is being implemented.  These assessments prove valuable in establishing
the case for continuing implementation of FIE in various contexts.

IC&TA operates FIE Awareness conferences, seminars, workshops, Level I,II &
III training and follow-up implementation in both English and Spanish.

Our overall goal is to enable learners of many ages to teach to their fullest
intellectual potential.

The Southeastern Center for the Enhancement of Learning (SCEL), located in metro-Atlanta, was authorized in April, 2000 to serve the Southeastern United States as a resource and training center for Instrumental Enrichment. Dr. Martha M. Wood, educational psychologist and retired Professor of Mathematics from the University System of Georgia, is the founder and director of the center. Dr. Wood's interest in Professor Feuerstein's work began in 1985 when she first studied with him in Israel.
She is certified to administer both Instrumental Enrichment (IE) and the Learning Propensity Assessment Device (LPAD), and is a Certified Trainer for IE. The staff at SCEL includes Elles Taddeo, executive assistant and special projects coordinator, who has also studied in Israel, Jan Scott, research coordinator, and Chris Wood, communications coordinator and web master.

Centro Educational Tanesque, A.C. is 20 years old, our main goal is the development of children and adolescents, so our activities are devoted to them, their parents, teachers, and professionals who have to do with their development. Tanesque works with urban, rural and indigenous population in Mexico and other countries.
Our services include:
€ Training: Training on IE levels I, II and III. Training on LPAD, training on Mediated Learning Experience with parents ands teachers.
€ Consultancy to schools: Supervision of the application of IE including observation and team work with mediators. Follow up of the transference of essentials from IE to the academic areas.
€ Research: The develop of research projects on Cognitive Development and the Impact of the Programs that persued it.
€ Clinical Services: We offer diagnosis and therapy to children and adolescents based in the cognitive area, in Feuerstein¹s theories. We use the IE to mediate our patients in transcending the difficulties and LPAD as one of our diagnostic instruments.

Este ATC se dedica al entrenamiento de mediadores del Programa del Dr. Feuerstein. Desde 1991 se han formado alrededor de setecientos profesionales de la educaciÛn en el arte de mediar.
Uno de sus proyectos de investigaciÛn m·s avanzado es la aplicabilidad de la EXPERIENCIA DE APRENDIZAJE MEDIADO (E.A.M.) al desarrollo curricular. Los resultados de este proyecto fueron expuestos durante el PRIMER CONGRESO LATINOAMERICANO DE APRENDIZAJE MEDIADO organizado por este ATC en el 2000. La transcripciÛn de este evento cientÌfico (conferencias, talleres, ponencias) est·n en el libro de las MEMORIAS DEL CONGRESO publicadas tambiÈn por Lasalle Argentina
Otra investigaciÛn importante la constituye la APLICACION DEL PEI A ADULTOS MAYORES DE 50 A‹OS. La experiencia lleva ya su tercer aÒo y las conclusiones primeras fueron expuestas en la JORNADAS DE MEDIACION Y PEI realizadas en Santiago de Chile y organizadas por la Universidad Diego Portales en el 2001.
A este Centro le corresponde la animaciÛn del PEI en las obras lasallanas del Distrito Argentina - Paraguay.

O Centro de Treinamento Autorizado pelo Prof. Reuven Feurstein -SENAC-ATC -, tem como missão: desenvolver o PEI - Programa de Enriquecimento Instrumental, a TMCE - Teoria da Modificabilidade Cognitiva Estrutural e a EAM - Experiência de Aprendizagem Mediada para o aprimoramento das habilidades de pensar das pessoas, direcionando-as ao aprender a aprender e a autonomia na tomada de decisões. Para tanto, o Centro de Tecnologia e Gestão Educacional - SENAC-ATC incorporou em sua missão:
a) Formação de Mediadores, Nível I e Nível II, no PEI - Programa de Enriquecimento Instrumental;
b) Desenvolvimento do PEI em Empresas, Instituições de Ensino (Escolas, Universidades, Faculdades, Cursos Livres, etc);

Since 1988, Guatemala and Central America pioneer organization in the diffusion of Dr. Reuven Feuerstein Theory of Structural Cognitive Modifiability and the Mediated Learning Experience. Israeli accredited mediators work with children showing symptoms of Autism, Down Syndrome, Hyperactivity and learning disabilities. The Center also conducts programs for the third age and to enhance learning potential. Professor Leal Klug is recognized for her work with autistic infants and her research in this field, based on a a Jerusalem training in Phase I and II, Trainer I and II and mediators program for the blind.

Mission

El Centro para el Desarrollo del Potencial Cognitivo (CDPC) ha sido creado para contribuir a mejorar la calidad de la educación y promover la formación de los recursos humanos.  Su misión fundamental es difundir en el Perú la teoría y sistemas aplicados del enfoque de la Modificabilidad Cognitiva Estructural (MCE) y la Experiencia de Aprendizaje Mediado (EAM) del profesor Reuven Feuerstein. A través de servicios de capacitación y entrenamiento, evaluación y asesoría, el CDPC ayuda a implementar acciones y programas para mejorar las habilidades de pensamiento y el potencial de aprendizaje en instituciones del sector educativo, laboral, empresarial y de promoción del desarrollo.

EL CDCP:

Þ       Organiza Talleres, Conferencias y diversas acciones de difusión e introducción en  la MCE y la EAM.

Þ       Asesora en la identificación de necesidades de enriquecimiento cognitivo, en ámbitos de la educación básica, laboral y de la empresa.

Þ       Ofrece entrenamiento certificado en el Programa de Enriquecimiento Instrumental (PEI) de Feuerstein. El PEI es un programa de educación cognitiva  orientado a desarrollar los pre requisitos del pensamiento,   incrementar la flexibilidad y eficacia del acto mental, mejorar la capacidad de aprender y el desenvolvimiento global de las personas.

Þ       Ofrece servicios de seguimiento y monitoreo para la aplicación del PEI y asimismo la transferencia de estrategias cognitivas y de mediación pedagógica de acuerdo a necesidades específicas.

El CDCP aspira a promover la investigación, publicaciones e intercambio de experiencias que contribuyan a desarrollar el potencial cognitivo de las poblaciones y mejorar la calidad educativa en el país.
